Neuropsychological Evaluations

Neuropsychological evaluations provide detailed assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning that often cannot be obtained through other diagnostic means.

Through testing, Dr. Dixit can assess strengths and weaknesses in your cognitive functioning. In addition, her assessment examines the development, functioning, academic skills, and psychological coping strategies. She then creates custom treatment plans to help you regain a sense of wholeness for the good of your mental health.

Neuropsychological testing is an important component of the assessment and treatment of mild cognitive impairment, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and other clinical conditions that affect cognitive functioning.

In a neuropsychological evaluation, Dr. Dixit tests your mental functions, which may include:

  • General intellect
  • Reading comprehension
  • Language
  • Attention/concentration
  • Processing speed
  • Learning and memory
  • Reasoning
  • Executive functioning
  • Visuospatial skills
  • Motor skills
  • Mood and personality

Most patients who underwent a neuropsychological evaluation reported that they found the neuropsychological evaluation helpful in understanding and coping with their cognitive problems.
